How to prep your home to sell
Are you looking to put your home out on the market soon? Do you not know where to begin? We know that this process can be a little overwhelming sometimes, but not to worry! We are here to give you a few tips and ticks for prepping your home to sell!
1. When you first pull up to your home, does it look welcoming? Are the bushes and trees nicely cut? Is the paint on the exterior clean? Are there weeds in the cracks in the driveway? The outside of you home is what gets people to come inside. If the outside isn't welcoming, that could be a huge turnoff for a lot of buyers. Make sure you get a fresh coat of paint and clean up those bushes!
2. When entering your home, pay attention to the smells of your house. Use candles or sent-bugs if needed to keep your home smelling fresh. Even though you live there, you don't want your house to seem like there are people living in it, especially for a showing.
3. Make sure the wall colors are neutral. You may love a certain color, but a buyer might now so it is always best to keep the wall colors simple. A neutral wall color also goes with a lot of things! Paint is always an easy way to freshen up a home. Just a new color can make the house feel brand new!
4. Keep the house clean. We completely understand that you live in this home, but if you want your house to sell fast, you have to keep it clean! Clutter, dirt and dust can accumulate pretty easy, especially if there are a few people running around all day. We recommend staying on top of your cleaning and get storage boxes that can hold a lot of things but can also be easily hidden away!
5. Stage your home! Staging a home is one of the best ways to get buyers interested! Make the house feel homie by adding pillows, curtains, candles, blankets, etc. Anything that will make a buyer say "I could live in this space." Make the space welcoming for everyone who walks through the door.
These are just a few of the great things you can do to prep your home for sale. Make sure you pay attention to your wall colors inside and out, the smells that could be in your house, clutter that is piling up and the way your home is set up or "staged".
